Flushing High School

Flushing High School choirs are represented in 3 class choirs (Concert Choir I, Concert Choir II, and A Cappella, and 3 afterschool choirs (Beta Chi Theta, Nu Alpha Delta Sigma, and Madrigals). During the school year, these groups are responsible for preparing and performing 7 in-school performances, and many more in the community.

"Choir is something you can go into every day that feels like a home away from home. It's something that gives off inspiration. You get to meet people who have the same interests as you. Choir is a class where you can go and be yourself. Beta is really fun because it's a group of accomplished musicians who are just as interested in doing a deep dive into the core of music and its meaning. It's good to be in a setting where everyone is so focused on something that they find meaningful." -Kelsi, A Cappella, Beta Chi Theta, and Madrigals

The FHS Theater program is a student-driven group that works collaboratively to put on three full-length shows per school year, including a musical! Students can explore areas of costume design, set design, marketing, technical design, acting, and more throughout the season. There are also opportunities for students to join the Flushing chapter of the International Thespian Society (ITS), which allows them to collaborate and compete with other theater groups around the state.
