2024-2025 Outstanding Scholars

Ethan Eric Staley 4.186
Ethan is the son of Eric and Heather Staley and is the Valedictorian of the Class of 2025. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. Ethan placed third in the Geometry portion of the Flint Metro League Math and Science Competition. Ethan was named Varsity Football Team Captain, First Team All Flint Metro League Offensive Line, and First Team Academic All-State Football. In the fall, Ethan plans to attend Michigan State University to study Electrical Engineering. He has been awarded the MSU Honors College STATE Scholarship, the AutoZone Scholarship, and the Al Kranz Endowed Scholarship.

Elizabeth is the daughter of Matthew and Ann Hartmann and is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Rho Kappa Honor Society. Elizabeth has many achievements in Michigan Future Farmers of America, which include State Vice President At-Large, Region IV Vice President, Top 5 in the state for Prepared Public Speaking, Silver State Degree, State Goat Production Proficiency Winner, State Veterinary Science Career Development Event State Winner, and Region IV Star Farmer. She was a Color Guard section leader in 2023 and 2024, and a member of the Winter Guard State Championship team in 2024 and 2025. In the fall, Elizabeth will be attending Michigan State University, dual majoring in Political Science and Agribusiness Management, and has been awarded the Oginsky Family and Friends Scholarship, the GreenStone Farm Credit Services 2025 Scholarship, and the MSU 4-H Scholarship.

Hana Azmy Allam 4.130

Molly is the daughter of Chris McNamara and Breanna McNamara. She is the President of Mu Alpha Theta, Treasurer of the Rho Kappa Honor Society, Secretary of the National Honor Society, member of the Student Leadership Organization, and the Rotary Interact Club. She was also a member of the High School Powerlifting team. In the fall, Molly will be studying Communications/Media at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and has been awarded the Flint Kiwanis Scholarship.

Kaiden is the son of John and Magen Randol. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Rho Kappa Honor Society. In the fall, Kaiden will attend Michigan State University to study Actuarial Science and History. He has been awarded the Alumni Distinguished Full Scholarship and the Michigan State Honor College STATE Scholarship.

Colton is the son of Dennis and Gaylynne Chaney and is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and served as President of the Rho Kappa Honor Society. Colton is a Scholar Athlete, earning Academic All-State for football, and Honorable Mention All League Offensive Lineman. In the fall, Colton will attend Ferris State University to study Information Security and Intelligence.

James Brian Latstetter 4.096

Thi Bao Ngan is the daughter of Thi Hoi Nguyen and Thuong Van. She is a member of Mu Alpha Theta and the Science National Honor Society. She is a member of Club Unity, a Mu Alpha Theta tutor, and she volunteers at the high school college fair and Flushing Candle Walk. In the fall, she plans to study Chemistry at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

Griffin Elliott Blankenship 4.067

Jaelynn is the daughter of Jennifer Prior and Robert Howe and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, and the Rho Kappa Honor Society. Jaelynn was a Scholar Athlete in 2021, 2022, and 2023. She has played four years of Varsity Soccer and received Honorable Mention from the Flint Metro League. In the fall, Jaelynn will be attending Michigan State University and will study Biochemistry/Molecular Biology.

Joseph is the son of Mark and Raechel Schilke and is a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. Joseph excelled as a Scholar-Athlete, participating in track, football, and basketball. He was named Academic All-State for basketball and football, and was also named 1st Team Academic All-State in football. In the fall, Joseph will attend Catheridge College, where he will study Engineering and has earned the Highest Honors Scholarship.

Tara is the daughter of Lou and Jessica Fleury and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, and the Rho Kappa Honor Society. In the fall, Tara will be attending Michigan State University to study Communicative Sciences and Disorders.

Ethan is the son of Kelley Williams-Gerics and Jeremy Gerics and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Rho Kappa Honor Society. This fall, Ethan will study Computer Hardware Engineering at Kettering University.

Asiya Sumeyyah Bekri Abdurahman 4.016
Asiya is the daughter of Hayat Ahmed and Shash Sharif and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Rho Kappa Honor Society. Asiya has served as a Student Advisor and tutor for ELL students, Class Historian, and Student Council Member. She is also a GST Michigan Works Workshop Student Coach, and a National Bridge Scholar. In the fall, Asiya will attend the University of Michigan-Flint to study Human Biology. She has been awarded the First Year Opportunity Scholarship and a Maize and Blue Merit Scholarship.

Gabriella Genevieve Dorcey 4.009
Gabriella is the daughter of Robert Dorcey and Sarah Dorcey and is a member of the National Honor Society and the Rho Kappa Honor Society. She will attend Saginaw Valley State University in the fall to study Chemistry/Pre-Pharmacy and has been awarded the SVSU Founder’s Scholarship.

Hannah is the daughter of Nick and Sarah Pagogna and is a member of the National Honor Society and the International Thespian Society. She was recognized as a Scholar-Athlete throughout her high school career. In the fall, Hannah will study Psychology at Saginaw Valley State University and has been awarded the SVSU Founder’s Scholarship.
