2025-2026 Outstanding Scholars

Keira Elise Dumas-Knieper GPA 4.160
Keira is the daughter of Jennie Dumas and Dennis Knieper and is the Valedictorian of the Class of 2026. Keira is the President of the Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Rho Kappa Honor Society, and a member of the National Honor Society. She was recognized by the Rotary Club of Flushing as Student of the Month. Keira served as the Tennis Captain for the 2025 season, earning many Flint Metro League accomplishments. Keira was recently recognized as a Children’s Champion Nominee at the 31st Children’s Champions Award Breakfast. In the fall, Keira plans to attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology to study Chemical Engineering.

Allyson is the daughter of Steven and Melissa Tunnicliff. She is the Vice President of Mu Alpha Theta, a member of the National Honor Society and the Rho Kappa Honor Society. Allyson is a Scholar Athlete playing Varsity Tennis for three years and earning Academic All-State in 2025. She has also been awarded AP Scholar with Distinction. In the fall, Allyson will be attending The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor to study Neuroscience and Pre-Medicine.

Mack Vernon Burba GPA 4.130
Mack is the son of Mark and Kari Burba and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Rho Kappa Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. He also served as Board of Education Student Representative for his Junior and Senior year. Mack is the Varsity Golf Team Captain and Cross-Country Team Captain as well as a Scholar Athlete. In the fall, Mack will be attending Olivet Nazarene University studying Business.

Kyle is the son of Jeffrey and Laura Collins and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, the Rho Kappa Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. Kyle has been awarded AP Scholar with Distinction. At the Michigan Industrial and Education Society (MITES) State Competition Kyle was the Grand Award Winner in Mechanical Drawing and Divisional Award Winner in Additive Manufacturing Level B, in addition, he placed first in Exploded Information Pictorial Assembly Drawing, Pictorial Assembly Drawing, 3D Printed Static Assembly, and 3D Printed Game. Kyle is enrolled in Flushing Raiders Early College Program (FREC) earning college credits at Mott Community College and then will attend the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, studying Mechanical Engineering.

Cameron is the son of Marc and Nina Smith. Cameron is a member of the Science National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, and has been awarded AP Scholar with Honor. At the Michigan Industrial and Education Society (MITES) State Competition, Cameron placed fourth for Additive Manufacturing-1 Level B, took second at Regionals in both Mechanical Drawing of a Single Part and Detail Drawing with a Pictorial of a Single Part, and third place at Regionals for Mechanical Drawing-11, Pictorial Drawing of a Single Part. Cameron is enrolled in the Flushing Raider Early College Program (FREC) earning college credits through Mott Community College. Cameron plans to attend Kettering University to study Engineering.

Cody is the son of Tim and Sarah Aspin and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and is the Quiz Bowl Team Captain. Cody placed first in Calculus at the 2025 Metro League Math and Science Competition. At the Michigan Industrial Technology Education Society (MITES) State Competition, he won the Grand Award for Additive Manufacturing and Divisional Award for Mechanical Drawing. In the fall, Cody plans to attend Liberty University where he will be studying Mechanical Engineering.

Ben is the son of Courtney Carter and Corey Leisure. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, the Rho Kappa Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Varsity Bowling team. In the fall, Ben will be attending Kettering University to study Mechanical Engineering.

Evelyn Rose Popovits GPA 4.080
Evelyn is the daughter of John and Chrissy Popovits. She is the President of GSA, Vice President of the International Thespian Society Troupe 2829, Vice President of A Cappella, Secretary & Gate Keeper for Mu Alpha Theta, a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, and the Rho Kappa Honor Society. At the International Thespian Society State Festival this year she received an Excellent ranking in two different performance-based categories. Evelyn also competed in the Flint Metro League Math and Science Competition the last three years, earning a first place in Trigonometry in 2025. In the fall, she will be attending Kalamazoo College double majoring in Quantitative Economics and Theater Arts.

Emerson is the daughter of Spencer and Rebecca Bodzick. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Rho Kappa Honor Society. Emerson received the 2025 Molly Moquin Spirited Award and Academic All-State. Emerson played on the Varsity Softball team for four years and is also a three time Scholar Athlete. She has also earned top scores at Choral Solo & Ensemble each year she competed. In the fall, Emerson will attend Albion College, majoring in Sports Communication.

Alexander is the son of Brian and Jennifer Gasper. He is a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. In Golf, he has earned AP Scholar with Distinction, All-Honorable Mention, Varsity Golf MVP, and Flint Metro League 2nd Team in 2024 and 1st Team in 2025. In the fall, Alexander will attend Saginaw Valley State University, majoring in Finance.

Taylor is the daughter of Melissa Conkright and Brad Langley. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, the Rho Kappa Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and is a Scholar Athlete. Taylor plans to attend Mott Community College to study Nursing.

Robert is the son of Robert and Betsy King. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, the Rho Kappa Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. He has earned Academic All-State, Team Academic All-State, and is a Scholar Athlete. Robert took first place in Mechanical Rendering and second place in Pictorial Assembly Drawing in the Michigan Industrial Technological Education Society (MITES) State Competition. In the fall, Robert will be attending the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, majoring in Architecture.

Grace Elizabeth Gill GPA 4.006
Grace is the daughter of Rick and Heather Gill. She is the Vice President of GSA, Media Specialist for the Student Leadership Organization, and President of International Thespian Society. Grace is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, the Rho Kappa Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. She is also a member of the A Cappella, Beta Chi Theta, and Madrigals Choirs. At the International Thespian Society State Festival, she competed in the Stage Manager Competition earning a Superior rating and will be competing at the National level in June. In the fall, Grace will be attending Eastern Michigan University majoring in Entertainment Design and Technology.

Juliana is the daughter of Stephanie Davis and Barry Bush. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Rho Kappa Honor Society. Juliana is a Scholar Athlete, where she played Softball, Basketball, and Volleyball. Juliana is enrolled in the Flushing Raiders Early College program (FREC) earning college credits through Mott Community College. She plans to attend Northwood University to study Accounting.
