Four years after Central Elementary was built, it was necessary to construct another elementary school. Elms Elementary School is situated "in the country" in the northeast quadrant of the district on 15 acres and has a total footage of 45,184 sq. ft. During the summer of 2002, art and music classroom additions were constructed and the smaller existing art and music rooms were renovated into special education classrooms.
