• Welcome to Flushing Community Schools and Flushing, Michigan!

Flushing is a child and family oriented community. A strong academic focus in a caring, safe environment is provided to the students in the Flushing School District. Flushing parents are involved and supportive. The many Booster, PTO, and Parents Who Care groups provide financial, meaningful academic, and co-curricular support to our students. The entire Flushing community - including senior citizens, businesses, civic organizations, and governmental entities - all work together and are supportive of our schools. This unique cooperative attitude is what makes the Flushing community very special. Students attending Flushing Community Schools have many opportunities to participate in activities outside the regular academic day. In addition to the many fine arts, practical arts, and citizenship/community service activities, there are 24 different sports available for participation.

The district covers 65 square miles with a population of approximately 25,000. K-12 enrollment is approximately 4,130 students. Flushing Community Schools has seven school buildings, one bus garage/warehouse, and one administrative office. To ensure ongoing major maintenance needs of all school buildings, the voters of Flushing have approved a 0.75 mill for building and site needs. We take great pride in maintaining quality facilities.

Regular communication to all Flushing residents is important to Flushing Schools. A newsletter, The Three R's, is mailed bi-monthly to all 48433 addresses. Additionally, the district website provides a wealth of information and a means to communicate directly with staff. Parents have internet access to their child's grades, attendance and assignments. This is accessed through ParentVUE. The website address is www.flushingschools.org.
