MI HEARTSafe Schools

Last month, every school in the district was awarded with the MI HEARTSafe School designation for the 2018-2019 school year. To qualify schools must have: a written medical emergency response plan and team; CPR/AED certification for at least 10% of the staff, 50% of coaches, 100% of head varsity coaches, and 100% of physical education staff; accessible, properly maintained, and inspected AED equipment with signs identifying locations; annual cardiac emergency response drills; and pre-participation sports screening of all student athletes using the current physical and history form endorsed by MHSAA.

Many thanks to all throughout the district who serve on our medical emergency response teams. Their dedication to the required training is much appreciated.

Each school proudly displays the banner that announces they are a MI HEARTSafe School.
