Schools of Choice 105 & 105(c)
State of Michigan’s 105 & 105c Schools of Choice
Flushing Community Schools is accepting applications for non-resident students under Section 105 and 105c Schools of Choice for the 2019-2020 school year. The application period opens Monday, June 17, 2019 and continues through Tuesday, July 16, 2019. Parents of students accepted to attend Flushing Community Schools under the Schools of Choice program are responsible for transporting their children to and from school.
- Schools of Choice, Section 105 allows a school district in Genesee county to accept students from another school district in Genesee county.
- Schools of Choice, Section 105c allows a school district in Genesee county to accept students from another school district in a county that is contiguous to Genesee county (i.e. Shiawassee, Lapeer, and Oakland counties).
The application period for both Section 105 and Section 105c is June 17-July 16, 2019. Applications will become available June 17 at the Flushing Community Schools Administration Office located at 522 N. McKinley Road and will be attached to this news article. Completed applications must be turned in at the Administration Office in person and applicants must bring a valid driver’s license or some other official documentation to prove their non-resident status.
No applications will be accepted past the deadline of 4:00 pm Tuesday, July 16, 2019.
Students who have been suspended, expelled or withdrawn in lieu of expulsion within the past two years or who have been convicted of a felony may be denied enrollment in the district under the 105 and 105c Schools of Choice guidelines.
