Welcome to Summer Learning!
Summer Learning Resources

As summer activities start and warm weather is here, summer slide can occur over the summer months when school isn’t in session. While soaking in some of the sun’s rays, remember that it is important to encourage your children to stay engaged with learning over the summer to prevent “summer slide”. Summer slide is the natural decline in reading ability and in other academic skills that can occur over the summer months when school isn’t in session.

Thankfully, summer slide is preventable if families intentionally carve out some time each week for math and reading activities. Reading books independently and practicing math facts to help with fluency are always good practice activities. In addition, our K-6th-grade teachers are sending summer work packets home with all of our students to help keep their skills sharp over the summer. Every student who returns their summer work packet at the beginning of the year will earn a prize!
